Well It's Been Like Almost 7-Years for Lifetime Game...

Interesting it took something else to jog my mind about how long we have been here...

Bad thing is, I only got a little ways through Duke Nukem Forever and I kinda can't get myself to even click that familiar Icon on my desk top I have seen since the game was shipped to me and I installed it...Granted I have been doing things other than video games but Duke has been the biggest part of my Video Gaming Life since the very 1st side scroller came out...

Whoa is me, Whoa is me... I am hating going through the 'Hive' part of the game as I 'CHEATED!!!!!!' I watched a few of the Walk Through Videos on you all know where... In Duke 3D I kinda didn't like that and in this version I still don't...

O well I think this week I will fire the game up again and try to get through more of it or maybe not...

I will leave you with this, I think the price I paid for the game even tho it is Duke Nukem was about $20 to much for a game at that level these days, even if they do give us some good downloadable content...

A Little Old School Gaming for My Mac Buddies

The only game I got to play on a Mac all those years ago was "Marathon" a 3D style Shooter that came after Wolfenstein 3D... I didn't think much of it at the time as I was a PC guy but it was kinda fun and I never got to play "Oregon Trail" which I had heard so much about...

So anyway we are all in luck now since the guys at WPM Productions have come up with a nifty idea that all of us can now play almost all those old APPLE ][ Games within our web browsers... Their ActiveGS emulator and disk images are used for Internet Explorer and there are Add-ons for Firefox & Safari... I must note since I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Firefox did not find a suitable plugin so I would have to manually download it then install... Bummer, guess I'll have to do it later... hahaha

So anyways pop on over to their site and have some Old School fun.... Click the Linky: Virtual Apple ][... Oregon Trail is in their list so you fans are in luck...

Boy I Love Treats, Especially the Video Game Kind

John Romero of ID Software fame got a hold of an old video of him playing the original Doom video game before it was even finished... It's about 21-minutes long and pretty interesting with the others from ID watching him play and commenting on various things...

Well I'm hoping this thing works out for us that can't afford to purchase new components or computers every time someone comes out with a game like Crysis that won't run on anything short of a main frame...

One of the biggest things that attracts me to this service is the fact it will, supposedly works on old PC's & Mac's and I would assume there would be Linux support at some time tho you never know...

Miss Playing Those Old DOS Games?. Well I Sure Do.

Castle Wolfenstein was my very first game and from then on I was hooked... Next it was the Duke Nukem Series and before Duke Nukem 3D came out I was hooked on Rise of the Triad (ROTT)... ROTT had some innovative game play like the trampolines, a real God Mode where you could throw Fireballs and other neat things and the funny Dog Mode which came in handy many times...

Well I could have tried DOSBox to gets some of those games running but I never figured out how to use it... I did stumble upon a Duke Nukem 3D Port over at JanoF's Games and Stuff, and a link to the High Resolution Pack for the game here: Duke Nukem High Resolution Pack and I was a happy camper but I still wanted to play Rise of the Triad and a few others...

I was surfing around like I usually do and ran across this site: GOG.COM and what did I find you ask??? Well they have a pretty good sized collection of those old games that they have fixed the code for and got working with Windows XP & VISTA using DOSBox ... COOL I'd say!!!

So if you got the hunger why not drop on by their site and see if you can find any of your old favorites... The Price is Right on these games for sure... $5.99 each for hours of fun that could bring back some of your early gaming excitement, just purchase and download it couldn't get any easier than that... Why?...

Well just look at this poor little simple guy that finds the best in everything. He loves his job and does it diligently, he savours simple human trinkets and cares for his pet Roach (I mean come on, would you take a Roach for a pet alone actually feed it???, NOT!!!).

WALL-E has enough curiosity to kill every LOLCat on this planet yet he is the only romantic left on a Dying Earth devoid of Humans and he Loves Musicals to boot!!!... What more could you want from a story that tells US of what will happen because we became so lame that taking care of the Planet that gave US Life and Sustains US so far will actually survive no matter what we do to destroy it and we will more than likely this time be the ones that future alien explorers and scientists find as Fossils... Earth will survive without US and WALL-E's lucky enough to find Love along the way...

What more could you want from life or a great movie???

I'm knocking at your back Door!!!... Ted Nugent couldn't have said it better and the one thing I really like about Ted is: He & his family eat pretty much everything he kills...

So why the Cryptic Title you ask?... Weeeeell, as of late I have been hanging out at YouTube catching on bands that I had never gotten to see live all those years ago and I ran across a few Deep Purple ones that I really dug and there happened to be a few studio ones of their comeback CD "Perfect Strangers", hence the song: Knocking at Your Back Door " and the lyrical snippet from it: "It's Not the Kill, It's the Thrill of the Chase"... After reading the Lyrics I got the impression it was about Oral Sex but then again it could be about something else tho I doubt it... hahahaha

So while watching a lot of vids I ran across a bunch from the California Jam around 1974 which you can find here at Youtube: California Jam 1&2... Lot's of good performances and one thing I noticed was the "Rainbow" backdrop on the stage that led me to think after watching all the Deep Purple vids from that show that that is were Ritchie Blackmore got the idea for the name of his next band "Blackmore's Rainbow or just Rainbow"... Yup I think that's where he got it from...

Since we're on the subject of bands, there's and interesting article over at The Herald Sun in Australia talking about AC/DC's latest CD Black Ice and how their release of Back in Black was around the time of high inflation and unemployment in the UK and now with this release the world is looking at the biggest global recession in decades... I found a couple of new gaming sites you may want to check out... First up is Crispy Gamer which I found out about over at GigaOM... Seems Crispy netted around 8.25mil in funding to try and take on the sites like Gamespot and IGN (that is going to take some doing for sure)... One thing that turned me off immediately about Crispy Gamer was the look of the site, for some reason I just can't get into that theme at all... The second is the Sci Fi Channels attempt into the gaming arena with Fidgit... Figit??? what the hell kinda name is that for a gaming site???... It's with a Lot of Sadness That I Am Posting This...

As of this Friday past our other sites LifeTime Gamer Arcade, LifeTime Gamer.com, LifeTime Gamer Video, ExchangeBanners.org & Bass Fishing Resource Center are no longer online...

There are a few reasons for this, like some technical issues but mostly it is because the rising costs of doing business online a long with the rising personal costs of me trying to stay a live and pay bills...

About a year after I started this Blog a friend gave me exchangebanners.org which started my life as a Webmaster while I was still looking for a real full time job... I dived into the challenge and used every spare minute to grow that site a long with this one and to this date exchangebanners.org had grown from around 400+ members to over 930+ in the short time I had it... I have to pat myself on the back for the growth tho the site never really made any money but it also was not costing me very much, maybe around $10 per month...

After a move to a new state and a time to start over and look for real work, I started LifeTime Gamer Arcade cause I thought it would be fun to play around with and maybe make a few dollars while doing it... Well as you can see that didn't work out either but it was a great ride, tho it was the site that caused the increases in server costs and part of the events that just happened... I did have fun messing with the templates and such so I can say I did learn the most from this site... I am impressed that in it's short span online it did get more than half a million visitors and nearly 500 members...

Since I had the server I started LifeTime Gamer Video which was a free script and I didn't have to host any of the videos so that was cool... This site was a bit of a pain since the Template was totally messed up and I was not about to spend any money to have a new one created, so I just fixed it the best I could and let it run like that...

LifeTime Gamer.com was just a landing page but was going to be in the future the Portal to all the LifeTime Gamer Sites and other gamer related content... Well like the others it is now gone...

Bass Fishing, Bass Fishing Resource Center was a site I bought for around $20 and since I had the server I stuck it on there and just promoted it to see if I could take it as far as I did ExchangeBanners.org and LifeTimeGamerArcade.com...

The other things involved are the problem of getting a decent paying job that can utilize my skills and the fact of the economy, gas prices and the cost of an apartment that is going to go up nearly $400 soon which basically kills any option to keep websites running let a lone have internet access or a phone or basic cable TV...

As for this site since it is free it will be here but I am in a "Numbed Mode" right now at the loss of my other sites since I put every waking moment into them for around 16 months and I'm not sure when I will get back here and at least do some decent posting...

Right now I have to consider keeping a roof over my head and eating plus paying the bills I have besides trying to find a better paying job so I can continue doing that... I hope in the future I can bring the sites back but I would really be starting over again and I am not sure I could get them back to where they just were... I thought about selling them but I spend way to much time and money Branding LifeTime Gamer and I don't want to lose what will be 4-years worth of my time in August of this year... So I will keep all the domain names since the cost of those once every couple of years is not that much...

For those who were members of ExchangeBanners.org, LifeTime Gamer Arcade & LifeTime Gamer Video, I am sorry you were not emailed about this but most members of those sites did not opt-in for email updates concerning the sites...

So now I have a lot of time on my hands to find a better job and consider my loses... It hasn't sunk in yet but I keep looking at the Favicons in Firefox for all my sites and I am sad...

Do you hate those sites that just can't seem to get enough of just doing a "The Week in BlahBlah.com" on Friday, cause they think most of us are too lazy to surf the site cause we are busy with our jobs, family, sex, drugs, video games, love of chocolate, food, making money and those other little secrets that we tell no one?

Now they so deem it necessary have to do a "Today in BlahBlah.com!" WTF!!!

First off, "The Week IN", "Today IN?"... Shouldn't it be ON!!!! as in a online website?, also as in you have to get "On The Internet" to be able to view it... This is not an Actual Magazine that you have to look through the pages and buy at the local market or newstand for crying outloud... Anyways for me it's relaxing to take my time and look around a website I'm interested in rather than just hit the highlights if I've had a tough day...

Oh well such is me...

Ahh now for some new Gaming sites I found...

Video Game Media is a cool new site that I just ran across and is adding some new features that I haven't seen on any other sites in this format, like: Latest Ticker tape news items, Stock Quotes, Press Releases (ya I seen this on other sites), Latest Screenshots (yup seen that one), Previews (also Yep)... But they do seem to have all of it on one site which is very nice so it's worth checking them out for sure...

Another cool site I found is: GAMERDEALS.net... Which is a site dedicated to finding Gamers the best online Deals they can, tho I'm not sure it it is run by any real gamers... Another kinda related site tho I do not know that for a fact is: dealnews.com where you can find deals on all kinds of Computer & Electronic Items that will surely empty your wallet and max out your credit cards before ya know it...

It seems it's the same set where both of these were filmed and not to take anything away from Phil but both these people, err mammals have more hair than he does... hahahaha

He's still a great drummer and one of my favorites!!!!... Lunch Phil???, call me!...

Oh yeah, why do all these women in the new SciFi Series "Flash Gordon" look like the "Twiggies of 2007?"... I mean yeah they all have very pretty faces but the Bods of a toothpick, geeze I thought I deserved better after watching that channel since the day it aired...

Games???, did someone say Games??? Yeah I downloaded the Unreal Tournament 3 (Demo) and have been playing around with that... I have to say it plays nicer with my old ATI 800 Vid Card than Crysis does... Same Game play, Cool Maps and the only thing I see that's better as far as Graphics is the weapon you happen to be holding in your right hand at the moment...

I'll give it a day or so but I'm willing to bet there's not much new with this 3rd try...

Oh well go figure...

Halo 3 Mania or Why I Downloaded the Crysis Single Player Demo...

Well, I don't own a Xbox so no use in buying Halo.. haha

I loved the look of the Crysis Screen Caps & Teaser Video's so I had to check out the playable Demo... It's got some nice game play but the only thing is on my machine my Graphics Card can't handle the high settings... Bummer and I'm not about to shell out a few hundred bucks so I can just play this game, hell I still haven't finished Doom III, Quake 4 or PREY... hahahahahaha

As for Halo 3 I would like to see that one first hand, guess I'll have to find a friend who has it and go over for a play...

"Alien Shooter" from MOONPOD...

The gang that brought us Mr. Robot is back with another futuristic offering...

Alien Shooter has the same 3rd person perspective view as does Mr. Robot... In my opinion the graphics are not quite as good but that doesn't hinder the story or the game play, what does bother me tho it's more me than the game is the control system with the arrow keys, oh well by the time I'm done with the game I should have it down... hahahaha One thing I see that doesn't hinder the gameplay at all is all the "Clipping" of objects and the weapons and your characters arms when they sometimes go right through walls and other obstacles, I'm sure the developers can fix their collision detection without any problems... It's a fun Shoot'em Up anyways...

So without further ado here's a Screenie and Link to the game...

Don't forget to check out Mr. Robot also... It's a fun adventure/puzzle game and the graphics are killer...

While I'm on the subject of the Future, Space, Aliens and such I'm sure none of you could live without some of this Alien Movie inspired furniture for your lovely house, it'll go good with that giant "Predator" Blow-up Doll you have in the entertainment room... hahaha

The New BIOSHOCK Game Installs a Rootkit on Your Computer...

Yikes!!!! if this is true and it seems it is, 2k Games is in for a lot of pissed off gamers... Sony did this with a few Music CD's and when it was discovered they were in a lot of hurt from the public... Read more on Sony's Rootkit Caper...

If you don't know what a "Rootkit" is, well you can't find it on your PC and it is extremely painful to get rid of besides it allows them to take control of your computer anytime they wish... Mr. Robot Review...

Well I finally got other things done and had time to play this cool game...

After the first few minutes I was reminded of the 1972 movie starring Bruce Dern, Silent Running and his 3 lovable robots so that's going to be the base of the 2 questions for the contest but more on that later...

I don't play many 3rd person 3D games but the entire look of this game including the opening cinematics are very well done and consistent from level to level, MOONPOD has done a great job with this game... One thing I had trouble with was getting used to controlling 1138 using the mouse, but that's just me hehehe... Basically you have a task or tasks to complete before you can move on to the next section of the ship and they get progressively more difficult as you get farther into the game...

The PDA interface is what you use to look at the map of where you have been and to check your message logs and other things, the map came in very handy since I was so into the game I forgot to keep an eye on what section I was in and a few times had a hard time finding my way back, hehe...

So as not to make this a long drawn out review and bore you with tons of words, I'd just say check out their site and Download the demo to see for yourself what a fun game this is... Get the demo here: Mr. Robot Demo...

I found this news over at The Register and I have to say I have experienced a similar thing like this on "Two" of the Blog Traffic Services I belong to... One instance a Certain Site in the rotation was constantly trying to send me an email and I'm assuming it also was trying to read my Outlook Express Address Book, Wrong! I don't use Outlook Express hahaha (Foiled)... The other instance was with another Blog Traffic Service and this time the site immediately disappeared and a Pop-Up shows up saying I had some weird Malware/Trojan on my system and I need to go to their site to get rid of it which is not true since I keep all of my Anti Virus and Malware Programs updated constantly (they just wanted me to Pay for their Product to get rid of it, which in fact it was not on my machine in the first place), No thanks and that's a pretty tacky way to sell your products...

We Have Added Another Site to Our Small Web Based Family...

I have recently acquired ExchangeBanners.org from a friend and have redone the color scheme and layout a little bit and now I'm spending a lot of time promoting the site... Basically it is a site where you sign up and upload your banner then insert the code in your site and you earn credits from people visiting your site, thus your banner is displayed on other sites for people to click on... You can also buy "Credits" to increase your traffic...

Along with this acquisition I now have lifetimegamer.com after a few problems with someone who thought he was going to basically do what I had already done using this site... I doubt we will be moving to the New Domain anytime soon since I have my hands full with a few other things but it is something that will be done in the future...

The Premier Gaming website that has been around almost as long as I have been is making another comeback and looking a lot better than I do... Most of the others I used to visit and read on a daily basis are long gone... hahaha (Yeah old age sux!)...

I am amazed with Link: Angel Munoz - founder of "The Adrenaline Vault"... and his determination to keep his creation alive in this ever changing Gaming/Net Climate... He has a great history and you should visit his Wiki to see all that he has accomplished.... Yeah!, just click on the (Bold Link Above) Angel Munoz and you will see what I am talking about...

I spent a lot of time on that site looking for Game DEMOS to try out and looking for the latest news on what Games were coming out to satisfy my Craving or should I just say my Need to be entertained on a daily basis... It wasn't to maybe a year or two ago I got involved in the Forums at Avault and by that time the main site was getting a bit slow but still provided some good news and download links for us "Gaming" addicts...

240?, Umm okay... Seems Google Maps had a bit of a "Hiccup" on this request for directions... I've mainly used MapQuest for my driving directions over the years and really never had any of them be wrong tho sometimes they seemed to cater to "Newcomers" to an area and really did not show the Shortest way but the easiest for those who have never been the before...

Since I am a SciFi Nut and so on I was watching the "old, old reruns as I usually do" and ran across one with Robert Lansing and Mariette Hartley in it called "The Long Morrow"...

To make a long story kinda short, it's a Guy (Astronaut) meets Girl and leaves on a very long journey to another solar system kinda story where he comes back a lot older because of a personal choice and she hasn't aged at all...

Yes it's "Pricey" at the moment and isn't on the market yet, but I really like how it works and there are no buttons to worry about getting stuck or wearing out, tho the Touch Pad itself could malfunction at some point as most tech things do...

Well now that I'm in a warmer part of the country the "Bitter Cold" won't bother me as much as it would normally... But I spend most of my time sleeping and working in one place in the house that is not heated and instead of buying an expensive electric oil filled heater I am thinking of going for the Kandle Heeter... It's a pretty cool idea and very cheap, tho I am not totally sure how well it works but looking at it I can see where the theory would come into play... Check out the pic...

For my fellow guitar players out there I ran across this on another site and was immediately dumbfounded... I never thought this would ever become reality since the days of when Tom Sholz of Boston (the Band) and Sholz Research & Development, Inc. (makers of the Rockman and other devices) was trying to come up with a way to electronically compensate for a Guitar String that was out of tune during a performance... Needless to say he never did...

Well along comes Transperformance with a Guitar System that along with a computer and small motors for each string can with the touch of a pad tune your guitar to any tuning you want in a matter of seconds... Ice Planet Coming to a TV in Your Home...

For all my SciFi Nut readers all two of them... Oops include me so that makes three...

I ran across this site awhile back and kinda forgot about it but after reading a Tid Bit on Slice of Scifi my brain got *Rocked* and I thought I better get it on here before I totally forget it forever... So far it seems it's mostly an idea for a new series starring one of my fav actors Michael Ironside (I like the Bad Asses he plays)... The rest of the actors have not been named yet but it's being done in Canada like most of the SciFi Channels original Movies & other Series and it seems there will be a Video Game of the theme, tho I don't think I could play an entire game that is based on a Planet of Ice, kinda dull and no fun as far as I'm concerned... There's not alot of info on the show yet but you can check out the "Ice Planet Fan Site"... Read more here...

Now to the *Rocked* part, I was reading an interview with Dwayne Johnson (yeah *The Rock*) on Slice of Scifi and he does a few Q&A's about his love for Video Gaming... That brings me to the recent movie DOOM... In my opinion it should have never been made at all, I'm not knocking the Rock but it was just done so poorly (as I said in a previous post)... Anyways in the interview he talks about his gaming these days and how much his daughter at 5 is playing games and she can't even read yet... Want More???... Read it here... Umm, I thought computers were suppose to take us to a "Paperless Office" and therefore a Paperless world... hmmm Read the rest... Like I tell everyone when it comes to security and such "Build a better mousetrap" and someone comes along with a better mouse, I doubt we will have totally secure anything in our lifetimes...

I figured we "The Human Race" had always been such Arrogant Bastards that we needed a Kick in the Ass to put us in our place and seeing what I am all over the world today this movie I saw so many years ago just kept coming to mind and slapping me in the face...

I for one wish it would come true, since we can not solve this ourselves and I finally found the Pic from that movie starring Claude Rains as "Klaatu" and his Robot "Gort" that would enforce their "Laws" that prolly have been around for millions of years and worked all this time for them... Well Mom passed away around 1990 and Dad around 2005... These are things you think about when you get to my age... Was I a *Little Shit of a Kid?*, geeze I don't even remember I grew up when the words "Video Games" were never even heard of... Yeah I was a little kid that got into trouble at every chance he could... Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was a kid...

In those times, it was Plastic Toy Armies and HO Trains then I went on to HO Race Cars... Boy I miss those... I remember once all I wanted was this Army Cammo Watch, which I did get then after awhile it was broke... My My how back then everything could be Broken and maybe Mom & Dad would buy you a New one if you were good...

Times have changed just like the prices for those things that were simple and so cheap, and kept us amused for hours and days on end... Now we are grown up and have to purchase these items for ourselfs and our own children...

STAR POWER!!!... Your Kidding Right???...

So what is "Star Power", well Answers.com says this from my search on Google for the words: Star Power ... Hmmm and what makes me wanna know this answer???...

Well since there is alot of *STAR POWER* in HollyWeird, Sports and on the Video Gaming Front I thought I better look into this... I always knew Movie Stars made tons of money for their rolls in movies and then I find out Sports Figures do also and then those Sports Figures and Movie Stars move onto Video Games and basicially make tons more money through "Endorsements"...

Being a Musician I know what it's like to suffer for your craft and it's not an easy road to follow, but if your lucky enough to make it then it was worth it... There are far many less Musicians getting Endorsements than there are Movie Personalities and Sports Figures... Of course I do not have actual Unemployment Figures for either Actors, Atheletes or Musicians but it is in the upper percentages I can bet without losing a penny...

Soooooooo, How much money is enough for these people???... I would assume that even tho they have to pay their agents a percentage and whoever else helped them but considering the 6, 7, 8 figure salaries these people would be smart enough to *Put Some Money Away For a Rainy Day*... My My where did I hear that one from while growing up...

Well I ask you, what would you spend all that money on if you were suddenly Famous???... Big House, Fast Cars, Fast Chicks, Lotsa' Drugs, Travel the World???... Buy everything in Site, give a good portion to your favorite charity???... Or would you be smart and put some in savings for that Raining day when you would no longer be a part of the *Star Power* that seems to Come and Go with a Whim???...

What got me on this subject you ask???... Well there was as usual nothing on Cable except War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, of course if you click on his name, you get to learn his "Real Name... hehe Boring nite as always then I started looking at how many times I saw him in this movie and how much I figured he got paid for about 20-minutes at the most give or take for a 2-hour movie...

Yes, yes, yes I know ya gotta suffer for your craft and make your way through the ranks... So tell me something I haven't known for years and years???... These days I think it is just a bit Overboard with what these people get paid for *Their Limited Time*...

In this country we have a very strange way of putting a price on things that are popular even tho they are just common place in our daily lives...

I was reading an interview with Steve "WOZ" Wozniak earlier, not sure how old the interview is and it really doesn't matter.. What did matter is one of the statements he made and the CEO's and Stock Holders of alot of Companies today should take heed, cause I went through this also at one time in a company I was working for and it makes alot of sense to do and keeps people working...

"Wozniak: But it's that whole thing I was talking about: Hewlett-Packard, we're a community. There was a recession in '73 and Hewlett-Packard had to cut back 10%. Instead of laying off 10% of the people, they cut everyone's salary by 10% and gave us one day off every two weeks. So basically they said "nobody goes without a job." And I like that sort of thing."

I have to say if companies did this today the economy would be better off for it. Maybe the higher ups and investors pocket books would suffer a "Very Tiny Bit" but people would still be working... And WOZ if anyone has Star Power you do for all the things you have done over your lifetime...

Well *Golly Gee!*... To bad for us, umm err those that just can't wait to have the latest... Me I could care less until I need what *Either* offers and so far I don't see much, nor do I need either...

Gates Stepping Down, could it be Gates is just tired of handling so many responsiblities in the Company or he's just no longer interested or qualified to be Microsofts Chief Software Designer???... Myself I think both... For those that have never had to do 20 to a 100 things a day and make sure they were done correctly, well you prolly have no clue... I think the expectations of Vista is a bit beyond what Microsofts Engineers can produce in the given time and a bit beyond their capabilities for now...

....Been there done that...

As for SONY & the PS3 and all the other problems they are having now, same thing...

One other thing is the fact of everything getting faster and more capable sooner than before and these companies just cannot keep up making products for the Tech... At some point this all has to stop and just go at a *Given Rate" so there is "Stability"...

Keep an Eye on the World Around You, it's changing every second and most of the time not for the better...

As for me, I'm none of them... I barely made it through High School English and never really liked talking to people that much... I comunicated better through my Music and playing in front of 100's if not 1,000's of people was alot easier for me than being in a club watching a band or even standing in front of a class and trying to talk about my science project or giving a book report... And yes I usually stood or sat at the "Back" of clubs because I never liked the feeling that people were behind me...

Which brings me to today and the media we have that you can print or post most anything you want and without anyone ever seeing your face or knowing exactly where you live, they would never know who are you are if they saw you walking down the street... Simply mind boggling... hehe...

I'm amazed at how many writers, musicians, bullshitters and others are just naturals at this... I read alot of articles & reviews and I am sometimes in awe at how these people can use words to capture your attention and bring you into the story they are telling... I wish I was that good at words cause I would either be working for a well known News Paper, Website or News Channel tho I don't think a TV station would want some long haired Hippy looking dude reporting about how the local police just busted a government official or how the fire department just rescued Grannies cat from the tree... Then again ya never know...

Oh well 'Nuff of that...

Not sure about anyone Else but from the little TV I have seen lately I am so sick of these "Reality Shows"... Surviving Ted Nugent I could kinda relate to since I am a musician, but Rockstar: Supernova and "Supergroup" on Vh1, Myself I did like Sebastian Bach from his days with Skid Row and before when I used to see him in clubs But Please!!!!!!... That was the Lamest thing I have ever seen in my life besides a few episodes of Amercian Idol... I was just waiting for Ted to either put an arrow through all of them or just "Skin 'em Alive and have them for Dinner" with a few close friends...

Do the producers of "All these Reality Shows" think "All" of the TV viewing audience is just a bunch of beer drinking, pizza eating couch potato morons who have no more that a 9th grade education???... I guess so...

Myself an hour of News and the rest of the night watching the Sci Fi Channel or surfing the Net is more entertaining and alot more educational...

Yeah I was in a band back then, imagine that... What is even stranger the keyboard player had a couple of the first Photos that were ever taken of us and I for one never remember this Photo shoot until I was back home last year and finally found him... Sooooooooooo I asked him if I could scan them, umm Yep so here is one of them from the Band that won 3 Battle of the Bands in a row...

So on with other things, I guess all of you that have been playing the PREY DEMO are now either going Nutz and breaking into Video Game Stores looking for the as they say "Gold Version" or your sitting at your computer Drooling as you (pre)order from EB or Gamestop or maybe even Amazon... Umm $59.99 or even $49.99 is just a bit more than I want to pay for the entire game even tho I know it's packed with all kinds of goodies...

Yes the Demo is Amazing and again 3D Realms & Human Head Studios I predict have a Blockbuster Hit on their hands, Prey should exceed Max Payne many times over tho again it was not 3D Realms who created Max...

Which again leads me to think that maybe 3D Realms should just be a Idea Studio/Producer of Video Games and not the Creation Studio, since Duke Nukem Forever and the original Prey have never seen the light of a Video Game Store or our PC's...

Then again, who am I??...

Hmmm, sounds a bit like Rod Serling huh???.... You know, that guy from "Twilight Zone Fame", yeah that one...

Consider this for a moment, LifeTime Gamer as a "Sitcom", "Cartoon Show" or "Video Game Store Chain", where you get greeted by some Old Fart using a cane and half your size... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, now I got your attention....

While out Faking Fishing We/I have been working on this idea, of course it's been in the back of my mind for years... The Premise is mostly real life with some other characters thrown in for more comic relief...

LifeTime Gamer is a Real Life Musician from a Small Town in a relatively laid back state with most of his career long gone and he is left with just simple jobs to make ends meet and Video Games to keep him from going totally crazy because he can not get back on stage and Rock like he did in the 70's...

Royalties will not make You Rich Forever he has found out after all these years (I can still get on stage and rock tho... hehe) so he has to get what he can...

Basically he has a very small house with 2-bedrooms which he shares with two Grandchildren that his own children decided they could not take care of (this part is not true)...

One of the kids is a go getter and wanting to take on the world, make something of himself and the other is pretty much usless and sees the world as Free For The Taking and will do anything to get a free ride from anyone he encounters (Jail Time Included)...

Of course we have the usual Neighbors that go Nutz at 2 in the morning when Gramps Cranks up his Marshalls and starts wailing on Old Guitar Solos' that made him famous so many years ago.. hehe, and all the friends of the youngsters that happen to show up when they think something cool is going on like maybe a Metallica Lick here or there (not gonna happen.. well maybe one or two)...

The rest is being finished so just wait...

The Prey DEMO is Here and Ready for Download...

Oh yeah we are back also... It was a fun trip and took a bit longer since we decided to move LifeTimer Gamer to a new place on this Planet... It's a place I have been before but now after seeing it after so many years it's kinda a wasteland in the making and not sure we will stay here either...

Okay back to PREY...

So far all I can say about the DEMO is WAY COOL!!!... Brings back memories of Duke Nukem 3D and a few others with all the ideas of things you need to search out and find and basically click on to see what's going on... I really like the Gambling Machines and how they actually work in the game and the TV is kinda cool...

My only complaint with the Demo and the Trailers is the Voice Acting,... I still do not think it's convincing enough, the old man is well done as with the others so far but the main character still does not convince me he is the hero of this story (AI is awesome and well done)... The Graphics are very good with the exception of the Bartenders Jeans, They look Blurry when the rest of the whole scene in the bar is pretty much Crisp and Clean... (Then again I just got back and loaded it up, it could be I'm suffering from *Camping Lag* and haven't got my Game Eyes back yet, hehehe)...

I'll leave it at that and let you all download it and see what your impressions are...

Okay I've played some more... all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... I thought Doom 3 & Quake 4 were a huge leap, PREY has some of the coolest things going for it I've ever seen and some of the best creature effects and just plain Looks in any game as of now...
