The Life and a Bit of the Times of a *Online Forum Dweller*..
Yeah it makes no sense so far.... But it will...
Part I.
Well Doc it was like this... Back in the early 90's I clicked on this "AOL" Icon on my Windows 3.1 Desktop and low & behold I was in this whole new universe with Email, Chat Rooms, Message Boards and all kinds of cool stuff... We even had *Porn IM's* which got kinda old in a hurry but I learned to ignore them very quickly... Or did I ?... hahahahaha
Part II.
Fast forward to the present or actually about 5-years ago after of course leaving AOL and getting a broadband connection... WOW the speed was amazing at the time and I could search out all the Video Gaming Sites I wanted to in no time at all without waiting 20-minutes for the damm pictures to paint up... Well that went on for a year or so...
Part III.
Joining a forum for the 1st time... Well since I was already taking care of all the office PC's and we had just switched over to Machintosh's for our Art Department I thought I better start learning about them... So I grabbed a Apple Computer Magazine that had came with one of the Mac's and promptly signed up on the MacAddict Website...
Ahhh, another new world to explore *Forums*... I found lot's of helpful people there and made alot of friends... Later I joined a few more Apple related forums... Then after a year or so I joined quite a few Video Gaming sites just to see what everyone was talking about... Well this can tend to take up all your time if you try to keep up with everything everyone happens to be talking about...
These days I just stick with a couple of the Forum sites and hang out which still tends to take up every spare moment I have and then some... Since I no longer watch TV it's about my only entertainment and it also keeps me on top of things in the computer world and I have alot of good friends I have met there...
The main site I hang out with has gone through alot of changes since I joined over a year ago, not many of them good either, But I still like it there and there is a new place alot of the regulars hang out at also *BestTechie*... We do have our share of Crazies and sometimes *n00bs* that can get on your nerves quite frequently and they tend to do that but not at the new site...
Yeah I do spend to much time Online in the Forums but for now it's about all I have to do to keep from going *Wacky* myself....
